Maybelline Sensational Sky High Mascara Sold Out After Going Viral on TikTok

The drugstore mascara was formulated to lengthen and volumes lashes, is it really lives up to the hype?

When I was read Maybelline New York's New Mascara Sold Out Four Times After Going Viral on TikTok, I realized this is the new era of marketing.

The thought of having perfect, long lashes all the time without layering on mascara was just the best feeling in the world. Then, COVID-19 hit, and salons shut down for months.

I think it's a good idea to try again old-fashioned mascara. While scrolling on TikTok, I came across a video from user @jessica.eid_ who worked with Maybelline New York to help promote its new Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara, and it blew my mind.

The viral mascara — which, by the way, sold out four times on Ulta Beauty's website. The tube is a baby-pink metallic hue, and when you twist it open, you reveal its wand. It's plastic and extremely flexible. The brand calls this its "flex tower" brush, which has bristles that grip and reach for every lash — even the little baby ones that can be hard to coat.

Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara comes in two shades, Blackest Black and Very Black. The mascara is made with bamboo extract, which, according to cosmetic chemist Ron Robinson, helps to moisturize the lashes help give them more volume. In the tube there are also little fibers that give your lashes a fluttery vibe.

This mascara made people who wear it look like had a fluffy set of falsies on. The finish is very smooth and not clumpy. It just really does exactly what its name says: make your lashes sky high.

Removing this washable pigment is super easy. A gentle wipe like Simple's Kind to Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes or a dollop of a cleansing balm like Then I Met You's Living Cleansing Balm will do the trick.

Maybelline New York's Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara is available now on ultabeauty.com for $11, but you better get it quick because it'll probably sell out for a fifth time soon.
